On Aesir Beds
The first edition of this work included measurements taken from an Aesir subject after what I believed to be a full night’s sleep. It had not been one. My host had kindly provided me with a guest bed suitable for Humans, obtained, unfortunately, from a retired schoolteacher, and he apparently believed all Human adults to be approximately five feet tall. I slept diagonally.
The Aesir subject, meanwhile, had spent the night outdoors beside a mammoth and arrived considerably better rested. I have since become cautious about the phrase “primitive sleeping arrangements.”
